Every year in London the appointment that decrees the best liqueurs in the world in the various categories takes place. Expert judges meet and after a rigorous and careful practice, blindly establish the awards and decree the winners. Each liqueur is evaluated on the basis of a score assigned with a series of factors taken into consideration: flavour, aroma and hints. The individual votes contribute to forming a single judgment which will subsequently determine the final winner. For each category of liqueurs, only one product is awarded the "WORLD'S BEST" symbol and this year Amaro Milone in the Bitter category (Amari) is the "WORLD'S BEST".

Today, 2 years later, is a memorable day for Michele Sotero and Davide Milone, founders, creators and creators of Amaro Milone. An entrepreneurial success that projects the Calabrian reality towards new growth opportunities in new national and international markets.

Amaro Milone is an excellent digestive, invigorating, with a strong and decisive taste. The historical research of aromas and herbs for the creation of his recipe, which would bring to light the flavour, tradition and strength, lasted more than 2 years. The flavor and genuineness of the Amaro is inspired by the myth of MILONE of Kroton. The greatest athlete and warrior of Magna Graecia for his strength and winning spirit.

Where was Amaro Milone born? Amaro Milone evokes the atmosphere of that part of ancient Calabria that overlooks the coasts of the Ionian Sea, where the Polis di Kroton once stood, famous for the fertility of its vegetation, the beauty of its women and for the healthiness of the entire territory.

Kroton, with its imposing temple and its Sacred Wood: luxuriant, full of medicinal herbs, conifers, citrus fruits, aromas and secrets, dedicated to Hera which stood on the Lacinio promontory. Kroton, the birthplace of MILONE, where the great philosopher Pythagoras founded the school to disseminate his knowledge and nourish the mind and body.

MILON in 28 years from 540 to 512 BC. no one managed to beat him, he won 33 Olympic Games: 7 Olympics, 7 Pythian, 9 Nemean, 10 Isthmic, 5 times he was Periodonico.

MILONE, today considered the father of modern bodybuilding and continuous training. It is said that for his training he ran lifting a calf and that the latter, day after day, grew into a bull on his shoulders. MILONE was also a warrior without equal. He led Kroton's army into battle dressed as Hercules, with the skin of a lion, the club and the head surrounded by his Olympic crowns, terrorizing his enemies. There are many legends related to its strength. It is said that MILONE never finished a banquet without a nectar offered by the goddess Hera as a gift, to thank him for his devotion. With every sip his indomitable spirit drew benefit and refreshment.

There are more than 20 ingredients among citrus fruits, berries, medicinal plants and roots in the secret recipes owned by MILONE. In particular: a selection of bitter citrus fruits; liquorice, typical of Calabria; cinchona; wormwood, used at that time to flavour wine; gentian, a medicinal and digestive herb used also to disinfect wounds in battle; rhubarb, powerful anti-inflammatory; archangelica officinalis or angelica, used in the ancient time as digestive, invigorating and restorative.

The Lacinio distillery producer of Amaro Milone and Milone Nero has its headquarters in Calabria, in the city of Crotone. A team of young enthusiasts of the world of liquors, communication and design work within it.

Calabria is increasingly the land of the best Italian bitters thanks to the biodiversity of its vegetation and the abundance of large natural spaces of great ecological value. The liqueurs of Lacinio are further confirmation of the trend that launches the region as a flagship in the production of herbal liqueurs of excellence in the world.

It is very nice that young Calabrians, with their passion and their expertise, give prestige to a wonderful but not always brilliant land. It is also wonderful to tell the ancient history of this land and one of its legendary heroes (Kroton and Milone) unfortunately known by few. ?

Thank you for giving prestige to a land that is often remembered for being the land of the underworld and not of excellence.
